Custom Cutting Board - Exotic & Domestic Wood

This handmade hardwood cutting board shows off a mix of exotic and domestic hardwoods including Padauk & Purpleheart, and Hard Maple. The contrasting colors and grain patterns are truly eye-catching! This beautiful cutting board makes a great gift for others or yourself.

The hardwoods include the following:

• African Padauk heartwood is vivid blood red, toning down to a dark purple-brown with red streaks upon exposure. Grain is straight to interlocked. Texture is similar to African mahogany, being slightly open grained.
  
• Purpleheart heartwood is a deep purple-violet when freshly cut, maturing to a dark brown. The original color is restored when re-cut. Grain is straight, but often irregular, wavy and sometimes interlocked. Texture is moderate to fine.
• Hard maple is creamy white with a reddish tinge and usually has a straight grain, sometimes curly or wavy. Fine brown growth rings give an attractive figure on plain sawn surfaces. Rays are longer than in Soft Maple. Texture is fine and even.

The dimensions of this beautiful cutting board are 17 1/2" x 24" x 1 1/2".

We have installed black rubber feet with stainless steel hardware on the underside of the cutting board. The helps prevent the board from sliding on a wet countertop and makes it easier to pick up the board when you are finished.

The cutting board should be hand-washed with warm soapy water. The board should be reconditioned approximately every 3 months with cutting board oil/wax depending on use. Do not place a wooden cutting board in your dishwasher.
